Contact Lenses

Jacksonville, FL

Contact lenses offer several benefits over wearing eyeglasses for vision correction. Contact lenses don’t fog up or get splattered with rain, and they are a more convenient option for people who play sports and are physically active. Many people also prefer the more natural appearance of contact lenses over eyeglasses.

At Hanna Eye Care, we’re passionate about helping our patients see the world clearly and comfortably with the latest advancements in contact lens technology. If you’re considering contact lenses for vision correction, we have a wide selection of options to suit your needs. From daily disposable lenses to specialty lenses designed for specific eye conditions, we’ll work with you to find the perfect fit.

Soft contact lenses

Soft contact lenses are a popular choice for many people because of their convenience and comfortable fit. They are available in daily, bi-weekly, or monthly replacement options, and can correct a wide range of vision problems, including nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.

Daily disposables
Daily disposable contacts are contact lenses that are worn for a single day and then thrown away. They are designed to be convenient and hygienic, as they don’t require cleaning or storing in a contact lens case. Daily disposables are available in a variety of materials and prescriptions and are a popular option for people with allergies or sensitive eyes. They can also be a great choice for occasional contact lens wearers or for those who prefer the convenience of not having to clean and store their lenses.

Bi-weekly and monthly lenses
Bi-weekly contact lenses are designed to be replaced every two weeks, while monthly contact lenses can be replaced every month. Both options are made of breathable materials that allow for comfortable wear throughout the day. While they do require a little more attention and care, such as daily cleaning and proper storage, they are more budget-friendly than daily disposables since they need to be replaced less frequently. They also offer the possibility of extended wear, which means you can wear them continuously for up to 30 days without needing to remove them.

Toric contact lenses for astigmatism

Toric contact lenses are specifically designed to fit the unique shape of an eye with astigmatism. Unlike regular contact lenses, toric lenses have a more oblong shape that accommodates the curvature of the cornea in an astigmatic eye. Toric lenses are also designed to stay in place on the eye, ensuring clear and accurate vision for those with astigmatism. These lenses come in both soft and rigid gas permeable varieties, so you can decide what works best for you.

Bifocal and multifocal contact lenses for presbyopia

Bifocal and multifocal contact lenses are designed to correct presbyopia, which can affect your near vision as you get older. Bifocal lenses have two different prescriptions in one lens, while multifocal lenses have multiple prescriptions that allow for clear vision at different distances. These types of lenses can offer a great alternative to traditional reading glasses or bifocal eyeglasses for those who prefer contact lenses for vision correction.

Specialty contact lenses

While soft contact lenses are the most common, not everyone can wear them comfortably. That’s why we offer a range of specialty lenses:

Rigid gas permeable contact lenses

Rigid gas permeable lenses, also known as RGB lenses, are firmer and more durable than soft contact lenses. They provide sharper vision correction and can last for up to a year if properly cared for. However, they can be difficult to adapt to, especially for those new to wearing contact lenses.

Scleral contact lenses

Scleral contact lenses are larger than traditional contact lenses. These lenses are designed to vault over the entire surface of your eye and rest on the white part, or sclera, making them more comfortable to wear.

Scleral lenses are designed to create a smooth optical surface, which makes them ideal for correcting vision problems caused by irregular corneas, such as keratoconus. Since scleral contact lenses rest on the sclera, which is a less sensitive part of the eye, they can also be more comfortable for people who have dry eye disease. However, they do require more maintenance than traditional contact lenses, and they can be more expensive.
